🇷🇺 Russian Checkers (Shashki)
📋 Basic Setup
- Board: 8×8 squares with 64 squares total
- Pieces: 12 pieces per player (24 total)
- Starting Position: Pieces are placed on dark squares of the first three rows for each player
- Colors: White moves first, then players alternate turns
🚶 Piece Movement
Regular Pieces (Men):
- Move diagonally forward one square to an empty dark square
- Can capture both forward and backward
- Must capture when a capture is available (mandatory capture)
Kings (Promoted Pieces):
- Flying Kings: Can move any number of squares diagonally in any direction
- Can capture pieces at any distance along diagonal lines
- Must land on the square immediately after the captured piece or any empty square beyond it
- Can capture multiple pieces in one turn if possible
👑 Promotion
- A piece becomes a king when it reaches the opposite end of the board
- Kings are marked with a crown symbol
- Promotion happens immediately upon reaching the last row

- Multiple Captures: If after capturing, another capture is possible with the same piece, it must continue

- Threefold repetition of position
- 50 moves without a capture or pawn move
- Insufficient material to force a win

💡 Strategy Tips
Russian Checkers
